assistant lifeguard
Reporting to the Waterfront Director, the Assistant Lifeguard is responsible for assisting in the operation of the waterfront. Duties include following NLBC, Lifesaving Society and BC Camps Association procedures to open the waterfront, run activities and features, and close the waterfront at the end of the day or in the event of an emergency. The Assistant Lifeguard will also be expected to participate in all training required by NLBC, and provide assistance in the event of a medical or aquatic crisis.
The Assistant Lifeguard will demonstrate a proven ability to make sound decisions and follow directives under pressure, and be able to work in unfavorable outdoor conditions such as wind, rain, hot sun, and turbid and deep water.
The Assistant Lifeguard will hold and submit copies of the following certifications:

Bronze Cross (current within two years).

Aquatic Emergency Care (current within two years) OR Standard First Aid (current within 3 years) preferred.
This position is in effect from May 27 to August 31.
